VOTE TIME!
Okay so here's the thing... when I started this blog I did it thinking only my friends would read it and it would be a cool way to share some old records. Eventually I also started talking a lot about New York and its nightlife scene which at the time I was still very much a part of, and looking back at my old posts I've noticed I complained a lot. I wish I had never taken this approach... blogging when you get home from a lame gig seems like the right thing to do at the time but the next day just seems lame and unproductive. And, once I realized a lot more than just my friends were reading this, I made a conscious decision to not come off like a old frustrated geezer! But, at the same time I feel like since I've chilled with all that stuff, my blog has maybe lost a little of its character. So I'm just gonna add another weekly event (yay!). Now, I am counting on you the readers to let me know which you'd prefer. I'm thinking either "Re-Edit Wednesdays" or "Old School R & B Joints Wednesdays." here is a preview of what you would get with either one and please let me know in the comments section what you're feeling. WORD UP.
RE-EDIT WEDNESDAYS PREVIEW

Re-Edit Wednesdays will definitely focus on Disco and House and will have many different DJ's edits featured in addition to my own. This is a great old Italo disco song that I've always loved. I made an edit of it that does away with most of the vocals with the exception of the awesome vocoder. Easy Going eventually turned into Kasso who made the electro classic "Key West."
EASY GOING - BABY I LOVE YOU (EDIT)
OLD SCHOOL R&B WEDNESDAYS PREVIEW

I suppose I haven't really let on how much of a closet R&B fanatic I am on this website. And basically it all begins and ends with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for me. Here's a joint I feel like a lot of people don't actually know they had anything to do with although I could be wrong. For my money tops any of Bobby's solo stuff (which is saying A LOT!).

re-edit wednesdays! love that stuff.
I vote re-edits also.
MAN! When I left the house this morning, you said you knew how I would vote and damn it!! I hate it when you're right. Your re-edits are fresh, of course, but how can you NOT go with Old School R&B Wednesdays!?!?!
Uff. This is tough. Although I appreciate all the R&B I have pulled from here, Ineed to be honest with myself: Re-Edit Wednesdays.
Re-edit Wednesdays!
Re-edit Wednesdays!
Keep it old school, son.
More R&B please. The internets are already over saturated with the re-edits.
I gotta go with the Re-Edits
old school r & b joints wednesdays is a fantastic idea. not sure where else you can get that type of flavor and you are a trusted aficionado.

cosigning the damn re-edits. bring that shit.
I don't know if it's because I'm over 30 or what but everything you post is right up my alley. I'm also a fiend for music so I say both.
Re-Edit Wednesdays!
r&b son!!!!
like someone said earlier, not much of that on the interwebs. Re-edits is everywhere.

How about alternating Wednesdays? I like both concepts
Old School, so good!
def the R&B.. i can see that it wont win with all the re-edit votes, but i mean alot of your blog is focused on house and disco of some sort.. give the ol R&B some love..

R&B!
Re-edit Wednesdays def.!
Yeah... seeing as I have every fresh r&b record ever made I gotta go re-edits. However, I'd be interested to see what joints you'd post (Perfect Gentlemen anyone?) What if you did one every other week? Or just stop being lazy and do both, but then bring back the old vibe and complain about how blogs ain't what they used to be!
if the lists i posted didnt inspire u, or anyone for that matter, i dont know what else to say.. and as we all know, thats just the tip of the iceberg..
and not for nothing if we are calling it old school wednesdays, u cant not have r&b.. what would ralph mcdaniels and crazy sam think of a re-edit wednesday?
fuck all that
Yeah i had no problems going back and forth between yours, Stretchs, and Rocs blog for hilarious commentary on various pointless items, i miss that a bit. I got to say though, both ideas are great and i dont know how to pick between my kids..... but i gotta go 80's RNB (which would be the boy!!!). Even take it back to like the sound of "The Fever" and when disco was dying in the 80's. Am i still talking?????
i'm voting r&b!
re-edit wednesdays, old school rnb thursdays!!!
its all good!! alternating weeks???
Ummm... love the edit but gotta get some more R&B.
I can't pick just one. Do both!!
-Lindsey
reedit weds all the way...... i know you got some gems
I love both,,, but it's refreshing to see the rnb shit,, cause I to love that shit. Maybe a new trend can be started and mofuckas can get hipsters rockin to new jack swing. I'd be for that.

looks like re edits won...which is what i want anyway. granted there are plenty of re edits on the net...its all about ashford and simpson /one more try type shit..which is not on the net. if you hunt around enough you can find r&b files on the net anyway.

you should definately go with the Re-Edits
it might be easier to have a poll (you can add it easily with the blogger layout tools) to check out the results of the vote. going through all these comments will take a while.

Thanks Eli for the chance to let us decide what you post.
I, like most who visit this site, am always greatly appreciative of all that you post.
Having said that, re-edits of old disco songs is too good to pass up, so re-edits it is.
R&B!!!
R&B please, pick another day for re-edits
I say re-edit 80's R&B!
re-edits for sure
re-edit wednesdays
but i will be happy with whatever you give us!!
Don't forget the roots!
