OLD SCHOOL R&B FRIDAYS 5/24/08
Okay it's totally Saturday but I'm so jet lagged and out of it I probably wouldn't know that if it wasn't for the little date thing on my computer. I'm in San Francisco where eating is only an option between like 10 am and 7 pm so I have a few hours to kill and wanted to put up this amazing mix I got from the Deep House website. I guess it's a disco mix but I really consider disco and r&b the same thing. Oh and I hate the word "boogie" and never use it. It's worse than "turntablism!" I feel like it was made up by record nerds and was never actually used back in the day (I might be wrong but I'm sticking with my theory). ANYWAY, peep this mix, it really is just top notch. The lighting guy at my Saturday night residency who used to work lights at the Paradise Garage and The Roxy once told me I reminded him of Frankie cause if I'm in a shitty mood I play really weird and alienate the crowd. I think this was the best compliment I ever got although I don't buy it for a minute.

Co-sign on the use of the word "boogie". I swear I had never heard that term until last year.
Yeah, man. What the hell is this 'boogie' crap? I think that term may have onlyh been used in areas outside of NYC, because I never heard the term until last year either. Someone from Florida that I know uses the term, and I look at him like he's crazy.
